David’s musical career has taken an elaborate and unlikely route from playing in rock bands in the early seventies through a twenty-five year spell as a university lecturer in Music, during which he was also an orchestral conductor and composer.
After studying Music at the universities of Southampton and Oxford he lectured in classical music in Cambridge for twenty years. For eighteen of those he was Director-in-Residence for Anglia Opera. Rock music, though, has always been in his bones, and his time now is devoted to re-living his misspent youth.
As well as Court and Spark – The Joni Mitchell Songbook, David also plays in Mothership (Led Zeppelin tribute), Burn (a tribute to Deep Purple) and Eclipse Floyd (Pink Floyd tribute).
